Eva Lindh Interior Styling

Good morning. I hope your day is off to a good start! I woke up and realised there was no coffee creamer, and my coffee just wasn't the same. ;)

As I looked over my posts for the past week I noticed that I posted several jewel tone images or photos with vibrant color. I think today I'll tone it down some and show you the beautiful, serene styling of Swedish stylist, Eva Lindh. I originally heard of her through Desire to Inspire, a blog with more home interior images than you can imagine! If you're an interior design enthusiast and want some daily eye candy to drool over, they're one of the best places to visit.

Here are a few more examples of the work that stylist Eva Lindh does. Have you ever given prop styling a try? I've been thinking about trying it myself lately. I'm sure a quality camera is a must but then it's just about gathering a few things you love, arranging them artfully on a surface of your choice, and photographing them. You could choose earthy objects for your photo such as rocks, leaves, flowers, and twigs or create a theme with a tea cup, roses, a tea towel, and caddy.....it's really up to you! Styling objects for a photo is similar to choosing pictures from a magazine to put together a collage. The only requirement is choosing things you love. :)

Eva Lindh has such an eye for beauty and a gift for styling, whether its interior styling, prop styling, or fashion styling. I just love these images! They give me that "Ahh, it's great to be a woman" feeling. :)

Summer in Italy.......

Today I'm posting the work of two different photographers. I love both of their images, but you'll notice that they're very unique in their styles. I think that our own personalities really shine through when we create, don't you?

Aren't these images by Jen Altman lovely? They're just what I need today. I'm a forth Italian (and so happy with that fact!) and these photos just take me there.

Colorful Images by Myla Kent

Good morning. :) Thank you for your great response to the "Calling All Photographers" post from yesterday. I've already received several beautiful and unique photos and can't wait to see more! Enjoy these gorgeous images by Myla Kent and learn more about this talented photographer below.





These lovely window display images by Myla Kent literally make my mouth water! Their RICH, OPULENT COLORS and feminine appeal push me over the edge. I first learned about Myla over at Amanda's blog, Mocking Bird and I'm so happy I did! Myla Lives and works in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and is the fashion photographer for Luly Yang (see above images) in Seattle and has also had her photography featured in Seattle Magazine and National Geographic.

While messaging Myla about her photos on Flickr.com (she's a very warm, gracious lady btw) I learned that we may be retiring to the same Washington town in the future. I'm not usually awestruck by well-known people, but when it comes to someone who is as talented as Myla Kent, I'm just a little bit humbled and a whole lot excited to meet her. :)

Calling All Photographers!

I've received several e-mails lately from photographers who would like their work featured and came up with an idea that might be kind of fun and also give photographers a little exposure (no pun intended). All you need to do, if you're interested, is to send me 3-5 of your favorite images. If your photos fit the basic aesthetic of Simply Hue (that leaves photos of Mac Trucks out....lol) I'll choose 1 or 2 of them to post in a couple of weeks along with a link to your shop or website.

Virtual Visit To Anthropologie

Am I the only one who has never stepped into an Anthropologie store? I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but it's true. Well, here's the next best thing.....a virtual visit to the Anthropologie outlet in Seattle. Seriously, I need to make it a goal to get to Seattle to see all of this BEAUTY and COLOR in person. :) I love Anthropologie's clothing and decorating line and would love to be a guest in a home decorated in their style, but my own home has more EARTH TONES, fewer patterns, and would be considered "modern rustic". What about yours?

Nice Surprise This Morning!

I came to the computer this morning to read my e-mails (pre-coffee so I was still a little blurry-eyed) and about jumped out of my chair when I found an e-mail from Paper N Stitch telling me they named Simply Hue blog of the week! Wow, what an honor and a great way to make someone's day. ;) Thanks so much, Brittni! Don't these images remind you of one of the great things about Summer......fresh berries?! We live in a small town near Seattle and there's fruit and veggie stands everywhere. I need to take advantage of them before it's rainy season again, which is about 3 out of the 4 seasons. lol. Do I sound bitter? ;)

Proud to be a Girl!

These images by Corrie Bond make me proud to be a girl! There are just so many things we can get away with that men can't....wearing high heels (which actually I'm not too good at due to my extreme clumsiness. lol.), using any excuse to dress up and wear make-up and jewelry, and best of all enjoying close friendships with precious friends. Remember the days of holding hands with your best friend on the playground? Did you ever see the boys do that? ;)

Just had to post a few more lovely images. These photos by Liz Ham are so vibrant, colorful, and fun! In fact, the COLORS used in these images are the main reason they give you this impression. If you look at the photos by Corrie Bond (above) she uses softer colors so her photographs come across as dreamy and feminine. Liz Ham uses brighter, more daring color to reflect happiness and fun.

Vicki: Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your art.

Tutti: My name is Tutti, it means "my strawberry" in Hebrew. I'm 27and I live in Tel Aviv Israel, with my amazing husband. I was born here in Israel, but spent my childhood and almost every summer of my life in Massachusetts. I've always enjoyed art and drawing and my parents were very supportive and always encouraged me to do what I love. So when the time came to choose a profession I got my BA in graphic design, specializing in illustration and animation design. Today I work as a graphic designer in a boutique brand firm. Illustration remains my biggest passion. At work and in my spare time, I never get tired of the simplicity of bringing something to life with a pencil and paper.


Vicki: What are your favorite subjects to paint and why?

Tutti: Definitely people and especially children. Like most of us, I'm still a child at heart and I love to re-live my childhood through my illustrations. And even though I've been a city girl most of my life, I find that I always draw quiet country-like subjects. I guess my art is my escape from the busy city.


Vicki: How does color inspire your work?

Tutti: Color is a huge part of my inspiration. In graphic design, color is a language in itself, it's a way to convey a message. But when I illustrate I tend to follow my heart when it comes to color. Coloring my illustrations is the hardest but also my favorite part of the process.


Vicki: What accomplishment in your life and/or career are you most proud of?

Tutti: Wow, that's a big statement for me to make! I'll have to say that it's starting my own business and opening my little Etsy shop. I still get excited with every sale I make, It makes me happy to know that people out there like what I make. It's hard work and still a work in progress, but I love every minute of it!


Vicki: What is your favorite color?

Tutti: Hmmm...that's a tough one, because it changes all the time :) I'm in a green period now and I guess the color "du jour" is a light green just like your blog's header.
