“There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” ~ Anais Nin
This quote just struck me today when I was reading my friend, Twiggs, blog. I actually teared up a little when I first read it because I know how it feels to withdraw and isolate myself due to health issues. This quote inspires me to step out, take risks, be the person I imagine myself to be.
What about you? What does this quote say to you and how can you apply it to your daily life? xo
That's a lovely quote. It inspires me too. My back problems can really interfere with my energy and state of mind. I think I spend too much time worrying about my health, and not enough time just enjoying life. Thanks for reminding me to reach out. Carpe diem!
ReplyDeleteI hear you, Gina. It's easy to get kind of "stuck" when you don't feel well.
ReplyDeleteHope your back problems disappear quickly!
This is one of my all time favorite quotes, just love the image you chose to put with it.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote too...I think for me it means to TRUST...that we don't have to have all of the answers to step out and that it does sometimes physically hurt to stand back. Stepping out is letting the world know that you're ready.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready, I think...and it feels so great.

I love this quote. It reminds me to keep stretching, growing, reaching, becoming. Not to get to comfortable. Often the greatest growth comes when we are a bit uncomfortable, when we push ourselves out of our comfort zone.
ReplyDeleteVicki, your pictures just take my breath away. I LOVE these ballerina slippers in the snow. Just beautiful. I hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeletethat is a beautiful quote, thank you for sharing xo

What a powerful quote! I absolutely understand what you take from it, and how for you it relates to your health condition!
ReplyDeleteFor me, being a bit too afraid at times to dare and take risks in order to make something of myself I absolutely relate to this quote. When I don't take the risk and just stay in the status-quo but see others take risks and succeed, that's more painful than taking a risk and not succeeding!
Well-put, Tali! You formed your thoughts so well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Prairie Girl and Maureen. Sounds like I'm not alone. xo
