Photographer ~ Allison, Rocky Top Studio

Her Shop ~ Rocky Top Studio, Her 2nd. Shop ~ Rocky Top Studio, Art Prints and Cards, Her Website ~ Allison Trentleman

"Allison Trentelman has been photographing the landscape and animals on the coast of Mainefor nearly 10 years. Originally from upstate NY, Allison originally came to Maine to attend the Maine Photographic Workshops residency program. She knew Maine was charming but she was unprepared for the beautiful wonderland that she encountered there. She fell in love and has never been able to leave.

Running her art studio from a rocky mountaintop not far from the coast, she doesn’t have to wander far to find a magical landscape. The land just out the window is dotted with huge boulders and covered in mosses and lichens. Wild blueberry bushes grow in abundance and the Milky Way is visible on a clear night.

The seasons up north are severe but the Spring and Summer seem to have an extra vibrancy after the long hard Winters. Watching the landscape through the seasons continues to inspire her work."

Well, happy Friday! I'm more than ready for the weekend....you? We're having some beautiful weather in the Seattle area so I plan on pulling out my camera. I hope you have some fun plans or at least are able to find some time to relax and rejuvenate.

Please drop by on Sunday to see the list of new featured artists! I might be changing up the Artist Spotlight format a bit and I'll let you know more about that on Sunday, too. I'm thinking of featuring 5 artists a week instead of nine. I'm hoping it might be more motivating for you to leave comments for the artists because there won't be so much to look at or read through. I would love to hear your opinion on this if you want to leave a comment. :)

Enjoy another day of Artist Spotlights and I'll see you here on Sunday! xo

  1. LOVE Allison's work. I've been trying to decide on which print of hers to buy for years now; they are all so amazing.

I like the idea of a few less artists per week - not that I don't love your columns, but you are right - three a day can be a bit overwhelming, esp. on a busy day when I am popping in and out quickly. But it is such a wonderful thing you do for all of us - It will be great no matter how you structure it.

  6. Thank you for the introduction to Allison's work! The chickadee photo has to be my favorite... well, maybe that and the pansy. Such beautiful light and color.

  7. I have always been fascinated by Allison's bird photography. It seems so UNREAL to me! She has a great eye (and fast shutter finger!) for this photography.

  11. Stunning! I'm a fan of her Etsy shop and have been for some time now. I fell in love with midcoast Maine (Acadia region) last year and her work brings back so many lovely memories of my brief time there. And those chickadee prints- WOW!
