Photographer ~ Sylvia from Sylvia Cook Photography

Her Shop ~ Vintage Chic Images, Her Website/Blog ~ Sylvia Cook Photography, Her Second Blog ~ Inspirations

"I grew up with a father who was a photographer, so I was around a studio, photo equipment, a darkroom, and chemicals for many years. Yes those were the days before digital. I was many times his practice model for the new light meter. I started college majoring in art, but not photography in particular. Career and family took me in another direction, but now I am enjoying practicing my design and art background with digital photography.

Photography for me in this new age of digital wonder is amazing. I like to see the whole, but the details of a subject are what really intrigue me. The small things, the ordinary things seen in an extraordinary way, the textures and the designs of nature are all fascinating. I hope to express some of these things in my photos, and provoke a memory or perhaps an emotion.

I love nature, flowers, macros, and all things shabby chic!
I've always strived very hard for sharp detail in my images, but lately have been experimenting with textures and layers in photoshop."
