Photographer ~ Kristi, Life Through the Lens & a New Outreach 4 Kids!
Her Shop ~ Life Through the Lens, Her Blog ~ Life Through the Lens
"I capture life's little moments through photography. Photography helps me slow down and look for details that I otherwise might miss. I feel most alive when I am creating & sharing things of beauty. I believe Aaron Siskind best describes how I feel about photography perfectly, “Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever... it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
I'm a self-taught photographer; constantly growing and learning. I find inspiration from my children, nature, the simple things, soft colors, natural light, quotes and life."

Well, happy Friday! It's been fun sharing this week with you and I've enjoyed reading every comment. Speaking of comments, I'm sorry if it's been a little confusing. The way the GIVEAWAYS work is that every time you leave a comment under any featured artists post, your name is "put in the hat" to win the prize. You don't need to leave your comment under the post about the giveaway item. In fact, I would rather your comments be left for the featured artists. :) I hope that explains things a little better. If not, let me know and I'll try again! lol. Oh, also, the giveaways will ususally run for a week at a time, but this one from Volume 25 will be running for 2 weeks.
I hope you don't mind me babbling on for a minute. I've got some fun things to share with you! First of all, besides the new DIY feature that I plan on having every other Thursday, I'm starting a new series called ART TALK. This series will feature an artist (Kim Klassen is our first) who will share something about the struggles and joys of being an artist and then will leave you with a question and a challenge. I'm so excited about this and hope that as artists, designers, and photgraphers, you will benefit from this series. :)
***Next, I'm excited to announce a new collaberation between Amanda from Mockingbird and myself that will support the efforts of inner city schools/non-profit organizations that reach out to kids' in crisis through ART. Since I love to put names on things (lol) this series will be called ART WALK. We're still thinking through this, but one idea is to open an Etsy Shop where we would post the work of kids' from these various schools/nonprofits. We would feature a different school or nonprofit each month and visitors could purchase artwork with all the proceeds going to that school/nonprofit. If you know of an organization/school that you would like to recommend, please send me an email or mention their name in the comments section. Also, we are working on an Etsy Banner and blog ad if you would like to donate a small ad space. Thanks so much!***
Have a relaxing, refreshing, and creative weekend and please let me know your thoughts about the Art Talk and Art Walk. :)

ReplyDeleteWow. WOW! You're blog is so cool and a zillion times more fulfilling than mine! I think that what you're doing here is great and I love that you've got a DIY section since (even if I have no time for DIYs) I love to get arts and craft-sy! What Kristi said about photography is really inspiring, too. I'm not a photographer, but I feel like whenever I take a picture, I'm also trying to slow the moment down so I can remember things. I didn't mind you babbling at all- in fact, I loved it. I'm following you now!
