Get This Look For Your Photos

What happens when there is no one around to take photos? Simple! You take them yourself.

My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary at the very place that he proposed (Ault Park ), a very beautiful green space that overlooks Cincinnati. The last thing we wanted to do was invite a photographer to join us on our anniversary, a time that we wanted to cherish and spend alone. I decided to document the time we spent at Ault Park in a series of photos that I took with my Canon Rebel. I set the camera on the self-timer/remote setting (on a tri-pod) and used the remote to release the shutter when we were ready. The result? Fun, personal and natural photos of my husband and I being us. No photographer taking awkward photos, no fee, lots of funny outtakes and a series of beautiful photos to frame and enjoy for many years.

Might you be wondering how I processed these photos? I thought so ... :)

1. Open photos in Photoshop
2. Download Pioneer Women's wonderful, wonderful and free actions here.
3. Apply actions in this order:
• Define and sharpen
• Lovely and Ethereal
• Warmer
• Warmer
• Seventies

Even my point-and-shoot has a self-timer, so you don't even need a fancy camera! So no more excuses for leaving yourself out of photos :) Hope you're feeling inspired to get out and capture some beautiful moments.
