More photos from our ocean trip ....
It's a beautiful warm day here in Seattle (and I'm definitely not complaining), but boy do I miss the beach! If I could choose any place on earth to whittle away the hours or days, it would be at the ocean.
How about you? What's your favorite place to spend a day?

I agree with you! The ocean... or anywhere along the puget sound. Last summer I went to Newport, OR and it was beautiful, albeit still chilly.
ReplyDeleteDo you live in the Pacific Northwest, too, Angela? It really is beautiful and I hear that the Oregon coast is the best. :)
DeleteI grew up around Seattle and am planning to move back there soon!
DeleteI remember my times on the outer banks of North Carolina. I spent most of my time on the beach and would love to go back....especially on this cold spring afternoon in Ontario.
ReplyDeleteI just have to chime in and say how much I love the Outer Banks too. I live in Virginia and head down there as often as I can :)
DeleteSounds like you have some precious memories there, C.B. Thanks for sharing! :)
DeleteI love the beach too. I've never been to the Pacific Northwest but as you know it's on my wishlist :) And these photos are making me want to travel there even more! Lately though I love the idea of a little cabin in the woods to relax in with walks through the trees and dappled sunlight and birds singing...oh to dream...
ReplyDeleteThis series of beach pictures is so wonderful Vicki! Just beautiful!
Thanks so much, Phoebe. ;-) I said this to another friend that left a comment, but you really write beautifully!
DeletePretty pics! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I would choose a nice sandy beach by the ocean too. Sadly it is a rare experience. SD just isn't close enough.
I know...we don't go near often enough. ;) Thanks for your comment, Jodi!
DeleteI love the sea too, but if I really'd have to chose, I'd prefer to live in the mountains, near a lake :) As water is inspiring to me, and the power of the mountains makes me feel relaxed and powerful myself. Mountain landscapes are often a mixture from tenderness/fragility (their flowers) and symbols of strength (rocks, mountains, etc.).
ReplyDeleteYou write beautifully, Elke. I agree...the mountains have a way of making you relax and find strength. I love nature period! xo
DeleteWonderful photos. They remind me of my latest Denmark trip. Really lovely :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sabine. :) I've never been to Denmark. I have a feeling I'd love it! How are you?
DeleteBeautiful photos, Vicki! Living in Seattle, the ocean isn't that far away, right? I remember great harbor views from a visit a long time ago... I am lucky to live right on the shore of Lake Michigan with a sandy beach 5 minutes away, and the wide expanse of open water is such a breather and such a luxury living the middle of America's 3rd largest city! I just learned to appreciate that again while visiting Shanghai where the only open vista you get is at the riverfront, but even the Hung Pu River is so incredibly busy with boat traffic that you really don't get any serenity from it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annette! Yes, the ocean is about 3 hours away... so not too far. ;)
DeleteLake Michigan sounds gorgeous!!!
