The imagination of people amazes me...I'm loving these fun retro collages by Catwalk! The thing I appreciate about collage is that it can take you away from your daily stresses or burdens as you sit for hours (if you have a free afternoon) clipping, tearing, and glueing. It doesn't take a lot of thought either...just some creativity and some basic design sense. Why not give it a try today?
these are lovely - especially the girl with the alphabet skirt! i think you're right in what you're writing about collageing - for me, it applies to drawing as well. it's different from the feeling you get from computer based creative work. i think doing something with your hands is more meditative and less draining. maybe we need to feel the materials?
ReplyDeleteOoh, good thoughts, Trudi...thanks for sharing! How are you?
ReplyDeletehi vicki, oh, it's just something i've noticed lately. i'm having a lot of fun with the computer, but it doesn't provide the same kind of focus - too easy to get sidetracked perhaps. thanks for your comment; yes, i'll email you soon!
ReplyDeletehugs!
I love the one on the postcard! What a great idea. I love collecting used postcards anyway.
ReplyDeleteSweet! I am hand-making invitations using old postage stamps and hand-written letters, and I'm going to print this page out because it gives me ideas.
ReplyDeleteI like all of them but mostly the postcard!
ReplyDelete@beauty comma: I totally agree with you. Have the same feeling about 'handmade' things. To me, it's like going back to the roots on the creative level. And my favourite is also the girl dressed in an alphabet skirt :-) I wish I had one like this, 'cause it reflects who I am ...
ReplyDeleteGlad you like these, ladies!
ReplyDeleteElke, the girl with the alphabet dress does remind me of you. :)
