Lilacs......

There's just something about lilacs. Their scent brings a flood of memories for some reason. We have two large lilac trees (one cream and one purple) and I look forward to them blooming every Spring.

Do you have any fond memories associated with Lilacs or with their beautiful scent?

  1. Beautiful photo! I love lilacs too, there is a lilac tree growing in my Grandmother's garden and when my siblings and I were little we had a 'coby' (a place we used to play house!) under neath it's branches. When I see these flowers every spring it always brings back lovely memories to me :)

  2. These colours are so beautiful and so vivid, I really can smell the lilacs, eventhough I am far far away, in a little European country. @Eadaoin: your comment remembers me of my own childhood and that's such a good and strong feeling :)

  3. I also love lilacs because of their beautiful aesthetic, their lovely scent and memories attached, as you mentioned. My grandparents had a huge purple one that hung over the corner of their big balcony. I used to sit out there, under the lilac tree. I also used to skip rope on that balcony quite often, facing the tree of course =)
