Light and Fresh Interiors
Good morning! How's your Tuesday going so far? I've got such a long list of "to do's" that I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. Wouldn't it be great if we could slide through life just doing "want-to-do" types of things....just not possible. lol.
Before I get going on that list I wanted to leave you with a few home photos I found on Deco Photo Blog this morning. You know, I never thought I'd be drawn to white walls. I'm a very outdoorsy person and love natural beauty, so I figured I'd want my home to be filled with earthy colors. But when we move, I've decided I want to keep our new decor light and fresh. In fact, I'm really drawn to a beach feel...white/gray washed walls and picture frames, soft pastel colors, etc. But, it definitely wouldn't be settling to live in a space like this!
I think I've asked this in the past, but do you prefer the light and airy feel of these rooms or more earthy colors in your home?

I am a light and airy person. Earthy colors make me a bit down. The more light, the better!
ReplyDeleteI like it light but I also need a bit of the earthy color too :)
ReplyDeleteI do like the feel here--funny it's the second place this morning I've seen the bright berry paired with white, it's such a cool and calming feel! I'm working on making my beach house more 'beachy' so white walls has definitely been a consideration as of late.

I love these bright white images but in reality I go for more earthy colours. Just because I find white can be quite clinical and of course a nightmare to keep clean.
ReplyDeleteI really love this kind of interiors, but I couldn't live like that. I always need some warm accents which remind me of the outdoor life and/or nature. So I keep this white, light and airy feel spaces for the moments I spend 'reading/living in interior design magazines' ;-), but in reality it's too clean and 'cold' for me (despite the wild flowers).
ReplyDeletePS: I am the kind of person who is always imagining herself how such an area would look like in the evening/at night. Does that seem familiar to anyone?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, ladies! It's fun to hear about different people's tastes in interior design. :)
ReplyDeleteElke, I'm the same way. I think a home should feel cozy at night. Candles always help. ;)
I love love love this! So crisp and delicate, yet functional and so liveable. I also love the lightness!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind living there, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't choose between the two(earthy or airy), it depends how it's done :)
I like these white walls, they are as a blank page an invitation to create and to dream about new creative adventures
