What Does it Need?

Do you ever complete a project (artwork, sewing, photography, decorating) and you're really excited about the result, but nobody else seems to be? Well, it was that way with this photo. lol. I set it up today, took photos, and edited it until I liked how it looked. When I posted it on Flickr it received one comment and just a few views. I know we're not supposed to base our opinion of our work on how others respond, but it's really hard not to! Hey, we're only human, right?

Do you ever struggle with this?

And, any thoughts on how I could improve this image? I value your input. :)

  2. hey vicki...just so you know i love this the way it is. it's beautiful! i kind of feel refreshed, like i might have just drank a cold glass of water while walking and walking the lovely streets of Italy or some other beautiful place.

i know just what you mean about getting positive responses to things you've created...it's just something we long for. it might be that artists do not Just create work as a necessity but also as a present to others. When those others don't love what we give them, it kind of sucks. lol.

i do love this though. if you really want to work it a bit, i could imagine a bit of orange outside the magnifying glass toward the right at the top, maybe...or maybe a little shape of it somewhere else. i don't really know. it's hard to find the in between where it's your favorite, but also everyone else's too :) so pretty, though. Thanks for sharing.

  3. There is no reference to show us that the stamp in magnified. Maybe if there was a piece of the stamp not magnified or a different stamp outside of the magnifier. Without this reference there is no pop to the photo.
