I love this photo by my friend and sponsor, Kristi, from Life Through the Lens. :)
Happy Friday! How was your week? It went by faster than most for me. Yesterday I was in bed most of the day not feeling well and I'm taking this day minute by minute. I might find myself cuddled up with a cup of tea and a book later on. Hey, that doesn't sound so bad! ;)
Any fun plans for your weekend? I think I'll be dragging my husband along to Anthropologie to return some perfume I ordered online recently. It just wasn't "me". I have the hardest time finding a perfume that is...I'm waayyyy too picky.
Oh, now for the purpose of this post...I'm in a major creative rut! Do you have times like that? I can't think of one creative thing to do. My mind feels completely blank. No ideas for photos, no projects in the works....I got nothin'! I would love to hear what you're working on or what you do when you're in a creative rut like me. Maybe it will spark something in me (or others) to work on over the weekend. xo!
Fantastic photo! So lovely!
ReplyDeleteI totally have days when I feel like I'm in a creative rut! I usually go to my tumblr account and look at hundreds of photos until I feel inspired or my weheartit account (http://weheartit.com/annawithlove) - otherwise the pride and prejudice soundtrack + candles + mountain of magazines
Goodluck xo

I too have been under the weather. Tea and a cuddle duvet with a book has been on my list. I am attending a fundraising this evening but relaxing the remaining of the weekend to get over this cold!
ReplyDeleteoh, and a walk in the woods!

Vicki...I do hope you're feeling better. I'd love to be in bed cuddled up with a book, that part sounds nice.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have quite a few creative ruts. Sometimes so much is going on in daily life that it just takes all I have to keep going. I wish I had some fabulous tip to share. I do love going for walks or being out in nature...that always seems to renew my spirit.
Hope you have a lovely weekend dear friend. xoxo, Kristi
When the ruts come, I embrace them. I think it is a way for my brain to rest a little, and I do all those other things that never get done - clean the house, do the laundry, do a little canning/freezing for later meals, clean my car, and call those loved ones I don't talk to enough. I find the ruts go away soon enough, and I feel GOOD about having made good headway on my neverending to-do list.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kristi, too, that a good walk in a pretty place is always a good way to calm the mind and often results in 'seeing' a lot of new things in the ordinary.
Great tips everyone! And I can really relate to what you wrote, Kristi.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, I love your outlook on creative ruts. I'm going to try to have the same attitude. xo
Oh Vicki sorry to hear that you're ill, hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI've had so many things going on lately I haven't had time to think about creativity. I'm just doing and maybe that's a good thing. Shoot, create or do whatever you want and maybe you find the creativity again.
I have such a hard time finding a perfume too but now I've found "it". I love Kenzo Eau de Fleur de Magnolia. :D
Have a wonderful weekend! xoxo
hello vicki!!! i also have those days.... somedays we are just not there in the creative world! :) so i agree with victoria... and do all those things i usually do not do as i am in a creative spot, so no time for those things. if not in the c spot, so let's get things done around! :) hope you are feeling better! have a nice weekend dear! hugs, twiggs
