Back from the Ocean

I'm back from the ocean and feeling refreshed. It was so nice! I was really needing some time away and I'm so glad I did it. I spent hours walking by the ocean, journaling my feelings, taking photos and....eating (salt and vinegar potato chips never tasted so good) lol. I had a lot of time to sort out my thoughts and right down a plan of action for some of the things I've been struggling with.

If you've never taken a couple of days to carve out some alone time, I encourage you to do it. It doesn't have to be expensive either. Do your research, pack your bags, and go! :)

Have you ever done this...left for a day or two to revive yourself? Where did you go and what did you do while you were there?

  2. What I'd give for a few days to myself at the beach! Sounds so perfect.
Great pictures, Vicki - the colors are great!

  3. I really wish I could do this, but summers here are crowded and loud down at the beach...and winters too cold. Sometimes I think the only thing that will bring me serenity is just to move, entirely! I'm so glad you got away to renew yourself. ;)

  4. My husband and I are actually leaving tommorrow for a small town in Eastern Washington, no cell service, no internet, no cable, just quiet time and lots of old abandoned homesteads and wheatfields to take pictures of... It will be a good break, the quiet always helps me clear my head.

  7. So glad you got some quality time to yourself, Vicki. Beautiful shots! I agree - taking a couple of days off for yourself recharges the mind and puts everything into perspective. Nature is also a powerful antidote to petty concerns. Also, I find that when I write down my thoughts - especially things that are bothering me - most of it doesn't seem so important after all. I schedule "alone time" to ensure that those around me see me at my best as much as possible. ;) x

  12. Love that last pic.

I'd like to feature it on my blog, in a post I'm planning with ocean serenity themed photos.

May I (provided that I link to you, of course)?

  14. Weekend breaks are so important, but even more important is to switch-off completely. No phone, no computer and just relax.

  15. I love these photos, they look so vintage. I just took a couple days and went home to visit my parents in the countryside. We didn't have anything planned so my Mum and I ended up talking and playing with our persona bracelets. Even though it was just some fun girly stuff it was so good to get out of the city and relax!

  16. Pretty, pretty pics! I love that huge ice cream cone :) I'm glad you got a few days to enjoy and to think. It is hard to do when you are home and in the middle of 15 things that need to be done.

Out here in Wyo we go camping in the mountains, but when I lived in SC and NC the beach was the best place to clear the brain.
