Mixed Media Artist, Dolan Geiman
Dolan Geiman is a mixed media artist from the Chicago area. His original works of art include paintings, collages, BOX PRINT® reproductions on wood, and art gifts. His work is contemporary with a touch of nostalgia and if you're a birdlover, like me, you'll appreciate that many of his pieces include them. When I look at Dolan's work it's pretty clear that blue is a favorite color. Soft cool tones add to the calming and restful feeling in his artwork.
People like Dolan Geiman inspire me to be creative and to not put my talents on the back burner. What about you? Have you put your creativity aside? What is one thing you can do this weekend to inspire your creativity. I'd love to hear about it! As a stay at home Mom for several years, I spent alot of time caring for the needs of my family. It's only been in the past year that I've picked up my paintbrushes and found a new passion for photography. I hope you learn faster than I did, to continue to hone your talents and make time for your "craft" as often as possible. Start small and go from there!
Have a wonderful weekend, friends!!! xo

ReplyDeleteI'm shocked to hear you've been pursing photography for only a year....you're so good at it. I think you must be a fast learner.
ReplyDeleteDolan's work is gorgeous; beautiful post.
I hope that didn't come out wrong...what I mean to say is that your photography appears so effortless that I assumed you had been doing it your whole life.

ReplyDeleteOver a period of time, i found inspiration and joy in photography. And also sketching, i paint once in a blue moon. These are perhaps 2 things i never thought i could do, or would love and enjoy doing it so much. But now, these 2 are my sources of creativity and inspirations.
ReplyDeleteIt is never too late to start growing passion. I love your quote, start small and go from there! And now that you mention, let's all make time for our "craft"!
I took a day off work last friday to go and explore a new place by the sea in order to take photographs. I felt so inspired, taking my time going around and paying attention to the details as I always do ... it was a magical day and I am planning more sea excursions to feed my portfolio :)

ReplyDeletei spend so much time blogging and reading inspiring blogs and sometimes i need to balance that out with creative projects of my own. one of my friends, who is also my neighbor started to take me to fabric stores so i got into sewing. we kind of motivate each other to do creative projects.Today we went to michaels to get some more project supplies. it was such fun and i cant wait to get started!!
