Colorful Collages from The Inspired Bride

As I search the web for colorful photos to post, I notice a real trend....the most beautiful and colorful images I find are from wedding blogs and websites. One I thought I'd tell you about today is The Inspired Bride. I'm so impressed with a section they have on their blog that's dedicated to color palette ideas for brides. To learn more about the Inspired bride and it's creator, Maddy Hague, and to view the photo credits take a look here. Here's a quote from Maddy's profile and a few more color cards for you to look at!
"The Inspired Bride was born on New Year’s Day in 2009 when I was in the middle of my own wedding planning. I’d found a lot of web sites and blogs that had a strong “Real Weddings” focus but they didn’t fit my way of thinking. Although they were beautiful to look at, I didn’t like having the finished product handed to me and felt like looking at what other people had done for too long would prevent me from injecting my own creativity and personality into my wedding. Call me picky, but I was also looking for something that fit my taste and was also thinking about the big picture. I wanted more of an emphasis on the “how to” – how to pull it together, how to make the favors, how to choose between this and that. I had always been into entertaining and party planning, and I was really enjoying how my own wedding was coming together, so I figured if it didn’t exist, I should just make it! Since its inception, I’ve been really influenced by my experience as an art director and by stylists I’ve worked with in the past (including some former Martha Stewart Weddings folks!) to find unique, stylish, and pretty details to work into any wedding."

Aren't these photos great? They're a reminder that color schemes are actually pretty easy to put together if you start with an "inspiration piece", such as a photograph that you love. It works the same way whether you're choosing colors for a wedding or for your home. Start with something you love (flowers from your garden, a painting, or a colorful photo) and base your color scheme on your favorite colors from that object. Pretty easy! If possible, take your inspiration piece with you to the fabric store, floral shop, paint store etc. so you can match the colors closely.
I have kind of a fun question for you today: What were your wedding colors or what would you like your wedding colors to be? Ours were POWDER BLUE, PASTEL YELLOW, and WHITE. That was almost 25 years ago, though, and I'm sure I'd choose something a little different now. ;)

I think choosing colours would be one of the hardest things. God help me when it's my turn. I am so indecisive!
