Interview with Angelica from "Mabellecherie"

My name is Angelika. I live in beautiful South Carolina. I am a wife and the mother of three children, ages 22, 17, and 11. I am a professional patent translator and I own my own translation business, working from home. A few years ago I started a jewelry business together with my 17 year old daughter. It's called Vandiva, and can also be found on etsy. My daughter and I both enjoy keeping up with the latest fashion trends and I had been admiring the fabulous clutch purses in fashion magazines for the longest time. Being a crafty person, I started making them myself.

I love modern design so I use modern rectangular purse frames with huge kisslock closures. I just think they're fabulous. I am constantly searching out fabrics with modern designs. I love huge flower designs but also abstracts, such as circles and rectangles and other geometric shapes. Having been a jewelry designer first, I came up with the idea of adding purse charms to our purses incorporating gemstones in color hues matching the purse colors. These purse charms dangle on over-sized lobster clasps so they are removable so they can be also used on a keyring, or a different purse.

Color is so important in fashion. I do like bright and airy colors and modern color combinations. Of course, to be a true fashionista you have to go with the colors that are hot at any given season. For spring I offer bright colors, and in winter you'll probably find a few darker color hues in my shop.

My personal favorite colors are without a doubt purple, brown, turquoise, and lime green.
