"Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours."

— Hermann Hesse

"Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary."

- Cecil Beaton

"I am obviously not a purist and do not profess to know anything about photography or its rules other than I do what makes me happy. If it's enjoyed, great; if not, at least I enjoyed doing."

  7. The focus on the sweet and restful details is what I love about these images. And along the same lines as other comments, I love the softness of Julia's work... even in the more brightly contrasted photos like the dogwood blossoms against the blue sky, there is a softness to the light that I find very visually pleasing.
    Thanks for posting this work.
